A Journey to Country – Baagii’s Memories

Published by Warranggal Dreaming

A Journey to Country, Baagii’s Memories is a holistically focused story describing the journey of dementia, the healing that occurs, the strength and simultaneous gentleness of our culture and the vastness and depth of our traditional language, how this supports us into the dreaming while we walk in 2 worlds.

The common myth of living a spiritual life is that it’s separate to many things. This bypasses the purpose of the physical existence. The other myth is that professionals know you better than you know yourselves. Some without a lived experience, without the journey, well versed in their dialogue however the difference between knowledge and wisdom is evident.

Although all have their place, and can work in a beautiful way simultaneously, it’s rare to find professionals versed in both worlds that can truly combine holistic practice in conjunction with main stream care in a culturally safe way, with the focus and intention of proper inclusion regarding culture, spiritual needs and family as a part of the whole equation.

Bringing together the dreaming, spiritual, healing and main stream practice, walking these aspects consciously and simultaneously is how this publication came through. You may be spiritually gifted; you may be professionally educated ~ can you walk them together? Is it from a knowledge base or is it through true wisdom that they are applied?

Dementia is a diagnosed condition with the commonality of all diagnoses, it doesn’t discriminate. Many statistics say that in Australia, there are more than 400,000 people diagnosed with this in 2024. It’s predicted that in 10 years’ time, this number will double.

We invite you to take a walk with us on A Journey to Country, and experience the path through Baagii’s memories.
